Class Instructor


Position: Class Instructor

Classification: Non- Exempt position, part time and full time positions available

Reports To: Raffa Family Services Director


Description: Provide direct services focused on individuals and families seeking parenting and family support. 


Qualifications/Background:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in ministry, education, or social services field preferred
  • Approved DPS, Criminal and CPS background checks
  • Experience working with social service agencies
  • Two years  experience working in related field
  • Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision
  • A minimum of two-year commitment for this position is preferred
  • Have faith in God and have accepted salvation through His son, Jesus Christ; daily living in a relationship with God that would be evident in your life, through word and deed
  • Have strong commitment to the Mission of Raffa and be in full agreement with Raffa’s Statement of Faith, Core Values Statement, and Mission Statement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry 40+ pounds up to waist high level
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, walk, reach, climb on a step stool or ladder, and be able to be sedentary or stand 50% of the time
  • Must be able to hear, see, and speak in order to communicate with clients and volunteers efficiently


Duties:

  • Maintain monthly class schedule for classes and coaching (as necessary)
  • Be familiar with Raffa Family Center education program materials and teaching supplements
  • Coordinate with Raffa Case Managers and Center Director to fulfill care plans for clients as directed
  • Ensure all appropriate documentation has been completed as per Center guidelines and policies
  • Maintain client contact and conduct case visits to monitor progress in case plan onsite here at Raffa Family Center
  • Provide weekly and monthly assessment reports of class progress to supervisor
  • Participate in all organizational training as required by supervisors
  • Assist volunteers with direction and guidance
  • Participate in vendor fairs and booths to network with agencies, vendors, and potential clients as needed
  • At all times be a Raffa Ambassador in the community


Administration:

  • Record all necessary information in Centerpiece  and Briteworks
  • Record log of incoming and outgoing calls for referrals, primary and secondary billing in Briteworks and Centerpiece
  • Submit timely invoices for billable services in Briteworks
  • Follow up with clients according to established KPIs
  • Collect measurements and data points for all initiatives and services
  • Capture TPCN referral calls and minutes for TPCN billing
  • Report child abuse/neglect to Raffa Family Services Director
  • Assist with keeping cleanliness of grounds and building during business hours and events
  • Assist with making TPCN baskets, maximizing billing opportunities.
  • Follow established policies and procedures and documentation protocols


This is an non-exempt position. Your work week is limited to 32  hours, calculated Monday to Sunday. Hours worked must be logged into the Quickbooks Workforce app. No overtime is authorized without prior approval from the Executive Director. Raffa retains sole discretion to determine when employees must work greater than 40 hours per week. Working unauthorized overtime hours may lead to disciplinary action and even termination.

Staff Nurse


Position: Staff Nurse


Classification: Non-Exempt, PRN, Part Time, and Full Time (8-32 hours weekly)

Reports To: Raffa Clinic Director, Executive Director and Medical Director


Qualifications/Background:

  • Be licensed as a registered nurse or licensed vocational nurse in the state of Texas, in good standing
  • Maintain an active Texas nursing license and CPR certification, comply with state and professional licensing and continuing education requirements
  • Successfully pass required background checks (conducted annually)
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and administration skills
  • At least 1-year experience working in related field, preferable Women/Infant Health, or OB/GYN preferred 
  • Be able to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as law enforcement reports, government or agency regulations, and legal interpretations
  • A minimum of two-year commitment for this position is preferred

Duties:

Responsible for delivering health education and information to individuals who are pregnant, parenting, or grieving the loss of a child. This role involves providing evidence-based information on prenatal care and pregnancy, parenting, grief management, and emotional well-being. The nurse ensures clients are well-informed about their health and options, empowering them to make decisions that support their overall well-being and that of their families.

  • Provide clinical services in accordance with level of expertise and training
  • Verify appropriate consents and forms, conduct patient intake and needs assessment,
  • Provide information to clients on pregnancy, parenting, and pregnancy options and make appropriate community and resource referrals. Refer to Case Manager if appropriate
  • Follow-up with clients and referrals as needed
  • Follow established medical and organization policies and procedures and standing orders under the supervision of the Clinic Director
  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation
  • Provide support to the other clinic and medical staff, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, chaperoning ultrasound exams
  • Assist with general office management and operations as needed
  • Provide education on Pregnancy and Infant care at Raffa Family Center as needed
  • Conduct regular inventory of medical and clinic supplies, ensure that the clinic inventory is valid and relevant and communicate needs to the Clinic Director.
  • Ensure medical equipment is clean and functioning properly, disinfect equipment as required, maintain quality control logs as required.
  • Ensure the facility is neat, clean, safe and welcoming to our clients and volunteers while maintaining confidentiality and privacy
  • Follow procedures and policies for all medical emergencies
  • Annual review of center policies and procedures, infection control regulations, and safety procedures
  • Ensure compliance with grant guidelines, reporting metrics, and deadlines
  • Assist in grant reporting to funders by collecting relevant data
  • Communicate needs for supplies and resources to the Clinic Director
  • Participate in all organizational training and certification as required by supervisors
  • Assist volunteers with direction and guidance as needed
  • Assist with ensuring the facility is neat, clean and safe and is welcoming to our clients and volunteers while maintaining confidentiality and privacy
  • At all times be a Raffa Ambassador in the community
  • Report child abuse/neglect to supervisor
  • Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of all client information and communication, adhering to data protection policies and laws
  • Other duties as assigned
